Getting Started at CORE Morningside

  • We help every new client choose the right entry point based on goals, history, and comfort level. Some people begin with physical therapy, others with private or semi-private Pilates, Gyrotonic, Redcord, or strength training sessions. If you’re unsure, we recommend a consultation so we can guide you thoughtfully and confidently.

  • No. Many clients come to us after injury, surgery, chronic pain, or a long break from movement. Others are athletes or movers looking to train with more intention. Our work is individualized and progressive, whether you’re brand new or highly experienced.

  • If you’re looking for expert-guided Pilates, Gyrotonic, Redcord, strength training, or physical therapy in Atlanta, delivered in small formats with real individual attention, CORE Morningside may be a great fit. We’re happy to help you explore your options. Book a consultation.

  • We generally recommend 2 sessions per week for best results. This can be:

    • All private sessions

    • All semi-private sessions

    • Or a combination of both

Your exact plan depends on your goals, history, and schedule, and can evolve over time.

Pilates, Gyrotonic, Redcord & Strength Training

  • CORE Morningside offers private and semi-private sessions in:

    • Pilates

    • Gyrotonic®

    • Redcord® Suspension Training

    • Strength and conditioning

These modalities are often combined to support strength, mobility, coordination, and long-term resilience.

  • Gyrotonic emphasizes circular, spiral, and wave-like movement to improve mobility, strength, and nervous-system regulation. Pilates focuses on strength, alignment, and control. Many clients find the two systems highly complementary and choose to practice both.

  • Redcord is a suspension-based system that uses slings and bodyweight to support neuromuscular re-education, strength, and coordination. It’s especially helpful for pain, injury recovery, athletic training, and improving movement confidence.

  • Yes. Strength training at CORE Morningside is integrated thoughtfully and often paired with Pilates, Gyrotonic, or Redcord. The goal is functional, sustainable strength that supports daily life, sport, and long-term health.

Private & Semi-Private Sessions

  • No. We intentionally focus on private and semi-private sessions so every client receives meaningful individual attention.

  • Semi-private sessions include 3–5 clients maximum. This small format allows teachers to personalize exercises, provide hands-on cueing, and adapt work to individual needs—while still offering the consistency and community many clients enjoy.

  • Both are effective. Many clients choose a combination—using private sessions for deeper personalization or rehab-focused work and semi-private sessions for consistency and momentum.

Physical Therapy at CORE Morningside

  • All physical therapy sessions are one-on-one for the full 50 minutes with a licensed physical therapist. We do not use aides or technicians. This allows for focused assessment, hands-on treatment, and guided movement every session.

  • We are a cash-based practice and do not bill insurance directly. We are happy to provide a superbill for clients who wish to submit for out-of-network reimbursement.

  • Yes, and many clients do. Our physical therapists and movement teachers collaborate to create a seamless continuum of care, helping clients transition from rehab into long-term movement safely and confidently.

  • Orthopedic physical therapy focuses on the muscles, joints, bones, and nerves that affect movement—commonly addressing issues like back pain, joint injuries, post-surgical rehab, arthritis, or sports-related concerns.

Pelvic physical therapy is a specialized area of care that focuses on the muscles, connective tissue, and nervous system of the pelvis. It can help with concerns such as pelvic pain, urinary or bowel leakage, pain with sex, pregnancy and postpartum recovery, core and breathing coordination, and conditions that don’t always show up on imaging but significantly affect daily life.

At CORE Morningside, pelvic and orthopedic physical therapy are not separate silos. Our physical therapists are trained to look at the whole system—how pelvic health, posture, breathing, strength, and movement patterns all interact. Depending on your needs, your care may include elements of both.

Who We Work With

  • While much of our educational content focuses on midlife health, strength, and longevity, we work with clients of all ages—from teen athletes to active adults in their 80s and 90s. Our approach is individualized, respectful, and adaptable across the lifespan.

  • Yes. Many clients come to us precisely because they need thoughtful, experienced guidance. We specialize in working with complexity and helping people move forward with confidence.

  • A midlife women’s health program is a coordinated approach to movement and physical therapy that supports the changes many women experience in their 40s, 50s, and beyond. These changes can include shifts in hormones, muscle mass, bone density, joint health, balance, pelvic health, and recovery capacity.

At CORE Morningside, a midlife women’s health program may include physical therapy, Pilates, Gyrotonic®, Redcord®, and strength training—selected and combined based on your goals and needs. Common areas of focus include building and maintaining strength, supporting bone health, managing joint or back pain, addressing pelvic health concerns, improving balance, and sustaining an active lifestyle long-term.

While this work is especially relevant in midlife, the principles apply across the lifespan. Our goal is not to “fix” aging, but to help women move with confidence, capacity, and resilience at every stage.

  • Yes. While much of our educational content highlights women’s midlife health, we work with many men in midlife and beyond. Common goals include maintaining strength and muscle mass, improving mobility, managing joint or back pain, supporting bone health, addressing pelvic or core concerns, and staying active as the body changes with age.

Our approach is individualized rather than gendered. We look at each client’s movement history, health considerations, and goals to create a plan that supports long-term strength, confidence, and quality of life.

  • Trainee and apprentice teachers are movement professionals who are completing advanced, supervised training through CORE Movement Education (CME). They have already completed foundational education and are gaining additional experience under close mentorship before becoming fully credentialed instructors.

We offer trainee and apprentice sessions to:

    • Support the education and mentorship of high-quality future teachers

    • Provide clients with access to thoughtfully guided sessions at a lower price point

    • Maintain the integrity and continuity of teaching within the CORE community

These sessions follow the same intentional programming standards as all CORE sessions and are appropriate for clients who are generally healthy and comfortable with guided movement. When additional clinical oversight or complexity is present, we may recommend working with a senior teacher or physical therapist instead.

  • Yes, CORE Morningside is one of the in-person home bases for our teacher training programs through CORE Movement Education (CME). CME offers comprehensive education and continuing education in Pilates, Gyrotonic®, and Redcord® for current and aspiring movement professionals.

While CORE Morningside is a client-focused studio, teacher training programs, workshops, and mentorship opportunities are offered through CME. For program details, upcoming dates, and application information, visit coremovementeducation.com.
