Jessica Gowen
Jessica Gowen is the Founder of CORE Atlanta and a Licensed Teacher Trainer for The Pilates Center, as well as a GYROTONIC® Master Trainer. With more than two decades of experience in Classical Pilates and the Gyrotonic method, she is recognized for her depth of training, disciplined approach, and commitment to developing both clients and teachers at the highest level.
Jessica’s journey into mind–body work began in 1998 after a diving accident ended her competitive swimming career. Through Pilates, she experienced firsthand the transformative power of precise, intentional movement. That experience led her to leave a career in public policy reporting and fully commit to the study and teaching of Classical Pilates.
She trained extensively with The Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado, where she now serves as a Licensed Teacher Trainer, mentoring and developing the next generation of instructors. She is also certified in the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® and GYROKINESIS®, having studied directly with the method’s creator, Juliu Horvath, since the early 2000s.
In 2006, Jessica founded CORE to create a space rooted in exceptional teaching, disciplined study, and meaningful client care. CORE Morningside reflects the full expression of that vision—bringing together Classical Pilates, Gyrotonic, CORE Suspension, and integrated Physical Therapy care under one roof.
Her teaching work bridges rehabilitation and performance, supporting post-rehabilitation clients, pregnant and postpartum women, midlife adults, and elite athletes with equal precision and respect. As a leader and builder of studios and teams, she values collaboration and community.
Jessica also founded CORE Movement Education, a comprehensive teacher training organization dedicated to developing highly skilled, thoughtful instructors. She believes deeply in continuing education, lineage, and building systems that allow both clients and teachers to thrive long-term.
Jessica teaches private lessons and classes at both CORE Morningside and our sister studio, CORE Ormewood Park, which she founded in 2024.
She holds a B.A. from Allegheny College and a Master of Public Management from the University of Maryland. A Decatur native, Jessica lives in Ormewood Park with her family and remains committed to building communities where disciplined movement practice becomes a catalyst for lifelong health and wellbeing.
